Nobody can go anywhere because everyone is in lockdown. All the offices have gone quiet, as no one can get out of the building. In this tough time, everyone wants to stay in touch with their friends. So at this time, everyone has moved to group video calls to stay in touch with each other.
Facebook, Messenger has announced new features that will make it easier to connect with business contacts, as well as family and friends.
The new feature is Messenger Rooms, a platform for generating group video calls of up to 50 people. In this room 50 people can join and communicate with each other. This platform is open to all and you don’t need a Facebook account to join the call from Messenger Rooms.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, has announced the Messenger Rooms feature. Users can select who is allowed to join their room, or with only a link, it is accessible to all. That new feature will work a bit like the Houseparty app, though. It will be displayed on a user feed, and unlocked ones bringing the user’s ability to join.
Facebook’s Messenger Rooms will directly target apps such as the Zoom, which has become so popular in recent months. Messenger Rooms will, however, have concerns about privacy.
The Messenger Rooms will be limited to Facebook as of now, and integrated with Instagram Main, Whatsapp, and Portal in the future Facebook Messenger App.
